Tallahassee continues to grow as a tech startup hotspot! Following the success of Startup Weekend Tallahassee, John IV participated as a mentor in another weekend event in which students worked on creating a viable startup in a short period of time. FSU 3 day Startup, led by Jonathan Adams, led to the development of projects such as Plexfolio.

US Airways recently begun direct service from Tallahassee to Washington DC, and John III was on hand at Tallahassee Regional Airport to celebrate the event. Tallahassee continues to grow as a world-class city!
Recently, John R. Marks, IV gave written expert witness testimony in a domain-name trademark/cybersquatting case, in which the client’s hired web designer in posesssion of a domain attempted to engage in a bad-faith sale, despite the client’s rightful ownership of the trademark and domain. A verdict of over $100,000 was granted in favor of the client. Congrats, John!
John IV will be serving as a mentor at Startup Weekend Tallahassee, a two-day event held at Tallahassee Community College in which participants develop an entire app, program, or website that could eventually support a sustainable business model. The event seeks to bring together people with different skillsets – primarily software developers, graphics designers and business people – to build applications and develop a commercial case around them.
