John R. Marks, III
Senior AttorneyJohn R. Marks, III received his B.S. degree in 1969 from the Florida State University School of Business and his Juris Doctorate in 1972 from the Florida State University College of Law, and is a member of the Florida Bar.
John III was elected mayor of the city of Tallahassee in March 2003 and served in that capacity until November 2014. During his tenure he was a member of the Florida League of Cities and the Florida League of Mayors, serving terms as president of both statewide organizations. He also was a member of the Board of Trustees of the US Conference of Mayors and a member of the National League of Cities. Combined with his prior service and experience, serving eight years on the Florida Public Service Commission and as Chairman for two years, John III is in a unique position to offer legal and consulting advice and counsel related to both utility regulation as well as local government relations.

Senior AttorneyJohn R. Marks, IV received his B.S. degree in 1999 from Harvard University and his Juris Doctorate in 2003 from Columbia University. He is a member of the Florida bar.
Currently, he serves as Instructor and Chair of the Master’s in Information Technology program at Florida State University’s College of Information. He teaches information policy, legal research, web programming, communications, and project management. His career has focused on the social implications of internet broadband and new media technologies.
